Cartier Watches & Wonders 2026: The Roadster Returns + Santos-Dumont, Privé & More

Cartier arrived at Watches and Wonders 2026 with something to prove — and they delivered. From a long-overdue icon reborn to jewellery watches that blur the line between horology and high art, this is Cartier operating across every register at once. The headline is the Roadster. Absent from the catalogue for nearly 15 years, its return feels deliberate — a calculated move in the same playbook that made the Santos inescapable at every collector meetup on the planet. The automotive DNA is all there: the headlight-inspired date magnifier, speedometer dial layout, conical crown with metal cabochon, and the trademark tonneau case with its four rivets. It comes in 38mm and 34.9mm, across steel, two-tone and full gold, with dials spanning clean white to a richly PVD-coated blue that feels genuinely unexpected for a brand like Cartier. The new H-Link bracelet, with its shortened links for a better drape, is a detail worth your attention. Then there's the Santos-Dumont — reinvented. A bracelet of 394 individually polished links, each measuring 1.15mm, with a .3mm obsidian dial so fragile it requires a master craftsman to set. At 7.3mm thick on the wrist, powered by the manually-wound 430 MC, this is a Cartier that doesn't need to say anything. For those drawn to wearable sculpture, the new Myst line is deeply intentional jewellery watchmaking — angular and round, diamonds and black lacquer, 30 hours of labour per piece. And for the Privé faithful, this year marks the line's 10th anniversary: three platinum icons (Tank Normale, Tortue Chronograph Monopoussoir, Crash Squelette) with red detailing and a new 150-piece limited Crash that's going to be very hard to walk away from.
